Andrea Iljkic of the South Alabama Jaguars women’s soccer team has been named the Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week, according to an announcement made Tuesday by the conference.
Iljkic contributed significantly in two matches last week. She scored two goals, recorded one assist, and had four shots on goal. In a match against Middle Tennessee, Iljkic assisted Zamiyah Hill for a goal and later scored herself with just four seconds remaining, bringing the final score to 4-0.
In another game against Southeastern Louisiana on Sunday, Iljkic converted her own deflected penalty kick into a goal. This effort helped lead South Alabama to a 3-1 win during Senior Night.
Currently, Iljkic leads South Alabama’s offense with three goals this season.
