Washington – U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville, alongside U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn and 20 Senate colleagues, has taken a significant step by cosponsoring a resolution to recognize October 10th as ‘American Girls in Sports Day’.

Expressing his support, Senator Tuberville emphasized the importance of sports for young women, stating, "Sports offer unlimited opportunities and teach great life lessons to our young women and girls.” He also highlighted concerns about the current status of women's sports under the Biden administration, particularly regarding the protection of Title IX. Tuberville stated, "Since his first day in office, Joe Biden has taken a sledgehammer to women’s sports by destroying Title IX. We won’t be quiet about this."

The resolution has garnered support from various senators, including Cindy Hyde-Smith, Jim Risch, Chuck Grassley, and others. Additionally, prominent figures and organizations such as Riley Gaines, Sage Steele, Caitlyn Jenner, Concerned Women for America, and Alliance Defending Freedom have endorsed the initiative.

Senator Tuberville's advocacy for preserving Title IX stems from his extensive experience as an educator and coach, with a career spanning over 40 years. His dedication to protecting women's sports was demonstrated earlier this year when he forced a vote on an amendment aimed at safeguarding female athletes from unfair competition.
