U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville, along with six other Senators, has written a letter to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin urging the Pentagon to publish the names of Chinese military companies operating in the United States. This request is in line with federal law, specifically Section 1260H of the Fiscal Year 2021 National Defense Authorization Act.

The letter emphasizes the importance of highlighting and countering China's Military-Civil Fusion strategy, which aims to eliminate barriers between China's civilian and military sectors. The Senators express concerns about China's acquisition of intellectual property and technological advancements from around the world for its military purposes. They argue that the public release of the "Chinese military companies" list is crucial for U.S. and international companies to be aware of entities supporting China's military ambitions.

In addition to requesting the publication of the list, the Senators also seek a briefing on why the Department of Defense failed to produce the list in 2023, as mandated by the FY2021 NDAA. They further request an update on the process for developing, updating, and publishing the list.

Senator Tuberville has been actively working to protect American resources, farmland, schools, investments, intellectual property, and national security from the threats posed by Communist China. He believes that the United States must confront China's military and non-military challenges with determination, as China seeks to surpass the U.S. as the top global superpower.

Senator Tommy Tuberville represents Alabama in the United States Senate and serves on the Senate Armed Services, Agriculture, Veterans' Affairs, and HELP Committees.

This effort by Senator Tuberville and his colleagues underscores the need for transparency and vigilance in countering China's military expansion. The release of the "Chinese military companies" list will help ensure that businesses and organizations are informed about entities involved in supporting China's military objectives.
