U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville, along with his colleagues, has introduced a resolution designating January 21-27, 2024, as the 14th National School Choice Week. This resolution aims to emphasize the importance of providing every child with the opportunity to excel in the classroom, regardless of their location.

"In my career as an educator and coach, I saw too many kids slip through the cracks. Parents, not the government, should make decisions about a student's educational future. I'm committed to breaking down educational barriers so that the next generation of leaders are empowered to achieve the American Dream, which is why I'm proud to join this resolution recognizing National School Choice Week," said Coach Tuberville.

The resolution, introduced by U.S. Representative John Moolenaar in the House of Representatives, has garnered support from several other senators including Marsha Blackburn, John Boozman, Ted Cruz, and Marco Rubio, among others.

Senator Tuberville's dedication to promoting educational opportunities is evident in his previous efforts. He has emphasized the need for school choice and has called on the U.S. Department of Education to reconsider proposed rules that would limit parents' ability to choose the best school for their child.

Furthermore, Senator Tuberville introduced the Children Have Opportunities in Classrooms Everywhere (CHOICE) Act, which aims to allow low-income families to use federal education funds for educational options that best suit their needs. He has also cosponsored the bipartisan National Charter School Week Resolution, which seeks to promote charter schools across the country.

As a member of the Senate Armed Services, Agriculture, Veterans' Affairs, and HELP Committees, Senator Tuberville is dedicated to advocating for the educational rights of students and ensuring that they have access to quality education.

With the introduction of the National School Choice Week resolution, Senator Tuberville and his colleagues are working towards a future where every child has the opportunity to succeed in the classroom and achieve their full potential.
