BRAC Celebrates First Anniversary of BR Works | Public Domain Pictures
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) joined U.S. Senators Todd Young (R-IN) and Chris Coons (D-DE) to introduce a bipartisan resolutioncelebrating the Future Farmers of America’s (FFA) 95th anniversary and designating February 18–25, 2023 as “National FFA Week.” The resolution unanimously passed the U.S. Senate on Wednesday, February 15. Alabama is home to more than 15,000 FFA members spanning 267 chapters throughout the state. Alabama’s agriculture, forestry, and related industries support more than 580,000 jobs in the state and adds more than $70 billion dollars to Alabama’s economy annually.
“FFA plays an instrumental role in supporting young Alabamians’ agricultural education while strengthening the farming industry in our state and across our country,” said Senator Tuberville. “The invaluable life lessons and skills taught by the FFA ensure young men and women across Alabama are prepared to drive American agriculture forward. As a former FFA member, I’m proud to recognize “National FFA Week” and the ongoing work the FFA does to develop the next generation of agricultural leaders.”
Senator Tuberville is Alabama’s voice on the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry, and he was recently named ranking member of the Rural Development and Energy Subcommittee.
